"Providing for Our Senior Members"
In 1922, our Order was still young. Our leadership realized that not only should our fraternity care for the children of Moose families in need, we also should stand ready to assist our own members who had reached the sunshine years of life--but found their days not so sunny. This was a time when most families had only one breadwinner, and Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid did not yet exist.
Together, men and women of the Moose created a City of Contentment in Orange Park, Florida, a community for senior members of our Order and their spouses; a city called Moosehaven. Today, in this beautiful retirement community, members access a true benefit of membership, assuring high-quality care for the remainder of their lives. Moosehaven truly is a haven providing comfortable living, nutritious meals, comprehensive medical care, social activities and peace of mind to members -- and members only -- of the Moose fraternity.
The creation of Moosehaven's "Brandon Place" neighborhood has created an important option offering more choices in living arrangements to our members.
