"Interpreting the Language of the Park" program is presented by National Park Service Rangers. A wide variety of nationally and internationally significant natural and cultural resources are found within Channel Islands National Park. The park is home to over 2,000 terrestrial plants and animals, of which 145 are unique just to the islands and found nowhere else in the world. Marine life ranges from microscopic plankton to the blue whale, the largest animal to live on earth. Archeological and cultural resources span a period of more than 10,000 years. To help protect and preserve these diverse resources, park rangers offer in-depth, interpretive programs free to the public on a variety of topics, at Channel Islands National Park Visitors Center, Spinnaker Drive, Ventura Harbor.
